James Allen Slaton, Sr., 79, husband of Edna Posey Slaton, passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2018. Born in Townville, he was the son of the late Clarence W. Slaton and Ruby Blackwell Slaton. Allen attended Townville schools and graduated from Boys High School. He retired from Duke Energy, Oconee Nuclear Station as a nuclear maintenance specialist. He was the owner and operator of Slaton Farms. Allen was a member of Oak Dale Baptist Church. He loved the Lord, gospel music and his grandchildren were the apple of his eye. He worked hard, played hard and was always willing to give a helping hand. He was an avid coon hunter with his beloved Blueticks. Allen is survived by his wife of 57 years Edna, of the home; son, Allen Jr. of Townville; daughter, Angela Slaton Radford (Lance) of Spartanburg; grandson, Easton Radford; granddaughters, Anna Kristen Slaton, Jordan Radford and Arden Madison Radford and his brother, Edward Martin Slaton. He was predeceased in death by his parents and sisters, Frances Miles, Barbara Carter and Patricia Radachovsky. The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:30pm Sunday, November 25, 2018 at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow in the chapel at 3:00pm with Rev. Kyle Caudell and Rev.
