James Austin Smith, age 45, of Piedmont, SC, passed away Sunday, April 18, 2021, at his home.
Born December 15, 1975 in Fairlea, WV, he was the son of the late James Austin Smith and Beverly Anne Rohr Smith.
James was a graduate of Greenbrier West High School in West Virginia and furthered his education earning a degree in Automotive Diesel Repair. He was the owner and operator of KC's Automotive Specialists and had a passion for restoring old cars. He enjoyed trail riding and shooting guns but he had a special love for motorcycles and was a member of the 81 Harley Davidson Motorcycle Club. James had a giving heart and was an advocate and supporter of the Calvary Home for Children. He loved his family more than anything and spending time with them brought him the most joy.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 24 years, Kelly Stull Smith; daughter, Kaitlyn Smith; siblings, Lilla Boggess, Christopher Smith, Mark Smith, and Daniel Smith; nephews, Johnathan Bennett, Tyler Smith, Ryan Smith, and Samson Boggess; and niece, Priscilla Smith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kerry Smith; and nephew, Austin Phillip Smith.
Family and friends may pay their respects and sign the Guest Register on Thursday, April 22, 2021, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Friday, April 23, 2021, at 2:00 pm at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Veterans Mausoleum with Rev. Chris Huff officiating. The family will speak with attendees following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Home for Children, 110 Calvary Home Circle, Anderson, SC 29621.
