He served in the United States Air Force as a Military Police Officer in Washington, D.C., and was the owner of Parker Hardware in Maynard, MA. He was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church.In addition to his wife, he is survived by his brothers; Albert J. Smith, and his wife Frances of Jamestown, RI, Charles R. Smith, and his wife Anne of Manassas, VA, sister, Charlotte Richardson, and her husband Victor of Jamestown, RI; and six nieces, four nephews, seven great ' nephews and three great - nieces.A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Macedonia Baptist Church, officiated by the Reverend Russell Clark.The family is at the residence.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice to the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
