Campbell Veterans Nursing Home and husband of the late Inez LeCroy Tucker, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 7, 2006 at the Hospice House in Anderson.Born in Oconee County, SC on September 15, 1920, Mr. Tucker was the son of the late Robert B. Tucker and Agnes Slater Tucker. He was retired from J. P. Stevens Company and served in the United States Army during World War II in the Medical Corps. He was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church and the 90 and 9 Sunday School class.Survivors include one son, Charles Allen Tucker and his wife, Kathy; and two daughters, Martha Tucker Hanks and her husband, Larry, and Joanne Tucker Nix and her husband, Larry; twelve grandchildren, Gary, Kenneth, Russell, Mark, Jeffrey Hanks, Deborah Hanks Evans, Amanda Tucker McCrary, Ashley, Lena and Corey Tucker, Robert and Tim Nix and thirteen great-grandchildren. Love and thanks to a special niece, Faye Tucker. In addition to his wife, and parents, he was predeceased by two sons, James Chalmer Tucker, Jr. and James Harry Tucker; sisters, Sara McCurley and Frances Glenn; half-brothers, Clifton, Lester, Preston, Lawson, Dawson and Carl Tucker; half-sisters, Lever T. Hanvey, Fannie T. Usery, Bessie T. Kilgore and Maggie T. Roach. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2006 at 4:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Sam Duncan.
