James "Jimmie" Albert Williams, Jr., 93, of Camden , SC, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at Morningside of Anderson. He was born on February 14, 1927 in Sumter, SC, to the late James Albert Williams, Sr. and Martha Matilda Fort Williams.
Jimmie graduated from Edmunds High School in Sumter, SC and then enlisted in the United States Navy where he was stationed on the USS Knapp. After his military service, he graduated from Presbyterian College. He spent his career as an accountant with DuPont and retired after 36 years. Jimmie was a long-time member of First Baptist Church Camden where he served in many areas of the church including, Training Union teacher, nursery worker, distribution of literature, member of the finance and counting committees and member of the Silvertones Senior Adult Choir. He loved bowling, ping pong, collecting coins, stamps and Dept. 56 Christmas villages.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanie Fulmer Williams; children, Martha Hamric (Dennis) of Rock Hill, SC, Lynda Rigsby (Bill) of Anderson, SC, James A. "Jim" Williams, III (Linda) of Atlantic Beach, FL, David Williams (Tammy) of Ocala, FL and Joseph Williams (Cyndi) of Simpsonville, SC; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Baby Boy Williams; granddaughter, Stephanie Williams; and sisters, Mary Frances Wolfe and Carolyn Price.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on Friday, May 1, 2020 at 12:30 pm at Sumter Cemetery, Sumter, SC with Rev. Bill Rigsby officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church Camden (Silvertones Adult Senior Choir) 1201 Broad St., Camden, SC 29020.
