James Wilson Jones, Sr. Anderson, SC James Wilson Jones, Sr., age 66, passed away on Monday, December 29, 2014, while vacationing in Holden Beach, NC. Born on March 3, 1948, in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late Raymoth W. Jones and the late Willie P Jones. James was the loving and devoted husband of Jane Rankin Jones. James was a graduate of Anderson College and subsequently a 1970 graduate of Erskine College. He worked for M. Lowenstein for many years and retired from Palmetto Insurance Company. He loved and enjoyed spending time with his many friends and family, but his passion was his grandchildren. Jimmy loved coaching all little league sports at the YMCA. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church. Including his wife, he is survived by his sons, James Wilson "Wil" Jones, Jr. and his wife Jenny and William Wesley "Wes" Jones and his wife Catherine; a brother, Raymoth William "Bill" Jones, Jr.; four grandchildren, Jaime Jones, Jake Jones, Caroline Jones, and Ally Jones; two brothers-in-law, Ranny Rankin and his wife Sandra and Johnny Rankin and his wife Tonya; also surviving are nieces and nephews, who he loved dearly, Alex and Kitt Rankin, and John Luke and Jane Rankin. The Funeral Service to honor and celebrate the life of Mr. Jones will be held on Friday, January 2, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. James T. Thomason officiating. Interment will follow at Old Silver Brook Cemetery. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Thursday, January 1, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The family suggests that contributions in memory of Mr. Jones be made to First Baptist Church, 307 South Manning Street, Anderson, SC 29624.
