IVA, SC'Mr. James Olin Young, age 88, husband of the late Lois Harris Young of 9316 Highway 81 South, Iva, SC died on Saturday, April 8, 2006 at Willow Creek Living Center in Iva, SC.Born on January 12, 1918 in Iva, SC, Mr. Young was the son of the late William Hicks Young and the late Allie Jones Young. He was a graduate of Iva High School, served in the United States Navy during World War II, and retired from the Naval Shipyard in Charleston, SC. He was also a retiree of Clark-Schwebel. Mr. Young was a member of Woodman of the World, committee member of Rev-IVA, and a member of the American Legion. He was also a member of Good Hope Baptist Church where he was a former deacon.Mr. Young is survived by one daughter, Joy Young Vaughter of Abbeville, SC; two brothers, Dr. William H. Young and his wife, Julia Ann of Williamston, SC and Frank Young and his wife, Patricia of Augusta, GA; and two grandchildren, Sandi and Courtney Hall of Abbeville, SC.In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Young was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.The family is at the residence.
