The McDougald Funeral Home2211 North Main StreetAnderson, South Carolina 29621864-224-4343OBITUARY: Anderson, SC JANET DORADOSEPTEMBER 7, 1945 - May 11, 2011ANDERSON, SC - Janet Elizabeth Dorado, age 65, resident of 608 Boulevard and wife of the late Thierry Dorado, passed away on May 11, 2011.Born September 7, 1945, in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late John Thomas Meehan, Sr., and Mary Elizabeth Hurst Meehan. She was a graduate of Pendleton High School and attended Limestone College. While a resident of Savannah, GA, she authored and published a ballet, 'The Ballad of the Waving Girl', which is still popular to date. Mrs. Dorado was the President of Fundraising & Management Counsel, Inc. Her career as a professional fundraiser allowed her to be responsible for successfully raising over eighty million dollars for non-profit organizations. After relocating home to Anderson, her tireless fundraising efforts were geared toward the Anderson Heritage as she served as Chair-person of the Gala Committee, served on the Nominating Committee, served on the Budget Committee, served on the Ways & Means Committee, and served as Chair-person of the Finance Committee. Additionally within the Anderson Heritage, she was a faithful platinum sponsor for the Gold & Silver Gala as well as founding the 2008 spring fundraiser, 'Red, White & Brew'. As a contributing member of the Anderson Garden Club, her emphasis was on civic development.Survivors include her son, Douglas Neal Kelly, Jr., and wife, Tracy Bolt Kelly, of Greenville, SC; a brother, Jerry Andrew Meehan; a niece, Katherine Streater Meehan; two nephews: Jerry Andrew Meehan, Jr., and Jackson Gray Meehan; and her faithful dogs, Charlie and Sugar.A Memorial Service will be held at 4pm on Saturday, May 14, 2011, in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home conducted by the Reverend Dan Batson. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that memorials be made to the Anderson Heritage Endowment, P. O.
