Janette Finley Chambers, age 80, formerly of Piedmont, SC, wife of the late Alvin A. Chambers, Jr., passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2016 in Spartanburg. Born in Anderson, SC, on July 14, 1935, Janette was the daughter of the late John Alex Finley and of the late Inez Weaver Finley. She worked as the School Dietician for Northwood Middle School in Taylors, then upon the opening, at Pelham Road Elementary in Greenville. She was a member of Taylors First Baptist Church and attended First Presbyterian Church of Spartanburg. She is survived by her son, Randall Keith Chambers and his wife Sarah Pennell Chambers of Spartanburg; grandson, Alexander Pennell Chambers of Spartanburg; and her loving and devoted sister, Helen Thompson of Anderson. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Chambers Baker and her husband Earl Lewis Baker, Jr.; a sister, Sarah Finley; and brothers, Raymond, James, and George Finley. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of First Presbyterian Church, Spartanburg, SC, with Rev. Joanne Hull officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Anderson.
