Janice Carol Jennings Gilbert, age 71, of Anderson, SC, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2023, at her home. Born July 18, 1951, in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Robert T. Jennings and Jeanette Chambers Jennings. She was married for 28 years to James Larry Gilbert until his death in 2016. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Peggy Surls and Teresa Flemmings. Janice was a CNA for over 40 years and a lifelong caregiver. She loved and cared for her patients but most of all her family. She is survived by her children, Chris Standridge (Teresa), Angie Bowen (Eric), and Cindy Boggs; brother, Carl Robert Jennings (Jackie); sisters, Sara Fowler and Cynthia West; 5 grandchildren, Cortney, Nikki, Bradley, Hannah, and Cody; 3 great grandchildren, Luke, Katie, and Kastyn; and 1 great-great grandchild, Lukas. The family will receive friends Monday, May 1, 2023, from 1:00-1:45 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm in the Chapel with Rev. Bruce Chambers officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
