Janie Sue McCurry Cox, age 93, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood.

Born June 21, 1932, in Franklin County, GA, she was the daughter of the late Ned Herndon McCurry and Clarkie Era Camp McCurry. She was married to Fred T. Cox until his death in 2010. She was also preceded in death by 12 siblings. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Janie was employed with Griffin Radiators for many years and retired from True Temper. She was a devoted Christian and member of Oakdale Baptist Church. She loved flowers, gardening, and cooking. She will be fondly remembered as a loving wife, mother, and friend to all.

She is survived by her son, Steven Jeffrey Cox.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 15, 2026, at 11:00 am at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Oakdale Baptist Church, 6724 Hwy 24, Townville, SC 29689.
