JANIE GENTRY April 19, 1934 - November 8, 2005ANDERSON, SCMrs. Janie Lee Whitaker Gentry, age 71, wife of William James Gentry of 1416 P & N Drive, Anderson, SC, died Tuesday, November 8, 2005 at Ellenburg Nursing Center in Anderson, SC.Born in Pickens County, SC on April 19, 1934, Mrs. Gentry was a daughter of the late Samuel Whitaker and Gertrude Taylor Whitaker. She was a homemaker and attended River of Live Church in Anderson, SC.Survivors include her husband, William James Gentry of the home; sons, Douglas Ray Gentry of the home and Bruce Gentry of Anderson, SC; sisters, Florence Hart of Anderson, SC, Wilma Ryans of Liberty, SC, Frances Self of Anderson, SC, Patricia Knight of Cross Hill, SC, Linda Rhodes of Liberty, SC and Brenda Hall of Laurens, SC; and two grandsons, Dustin Gentry and Brantley Gentry.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert Whitaker, Donnie Whitaker, Jessie Whitaker and a sister, Verena Hardy.Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 11, 2005 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home by the Reverend Ken Anderson. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Anderson, SC.The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, November 10, 2005 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.The family will be at the home of her son, Bruce Gentry, 826 Sharonwood Drive, Anderson, SC.Flowers are optional.
