JANIE WHITE MEREDITH Janie White Meredith, age 82, died on Thursday, August 7, 2014, at AnMed Health Medical Center. For 54 years, she was the loving and devoted wife of the late Dr. A. Owen Meredith, Jr., MD who died in 2007. Born in Greenwood, SC, Janie was the daughter of the late James Calvin White, Sr. and the late Ella Talbert White. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Anderson. Adored by her family and friends, she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Survivors include a daughter, Michele Stotter of Duluth, GA; a son, Douglas Meredith and his wife, Kitt, of Powdersville, SC; a sister, Nora White of Lake Junaluska, NC; a brother, Harvey White of Charlotte, NC; five grandchildren: Meredith Sheffield, Joanna Stotter, Andrew Meredith, Katelyn Alexander, Kelly Meredith; and a great-granddaughter, Ava Sheffield. In addition to her parents and her husband, Owen, Mrs. Meredith was preceded in death by three brothers, J.C. White, Jr., Paul White, and Marion White. A Graveside Service to celebrate and honor the life of Mrs. Meredith will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 10, 2014, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Anderson, with Rev. Mary Teasley officiating. The family will receive friends at Forest Lawn Memorial Park following the service. The family suggests that contributions in memory of Mrs. Meredith be made to Trinity United Methodist Church Endowment Fund, 1809 North Main Street, Anderson, SC 29621; or to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
