She was a Registered Nurse at Anderson Hospital for twenty years and retired from Patrick B. Harris Psychiatric Hospital as a Nursing Supervisor. She was a member of Middleton Road Baptist Church.Survivors include her daughter, Sallie Acker Hays and her husband, Michael of Starr; son-in-law, Watson McBride of Anderson; sisters, Barbara Junkins and Peggy Tannery, both of Anderson; six grandchildren, Tiffany O'Barr, Alex McBride, Aleisha McBride, Joseph and Justin Lance and Will Hays.In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Lisa Dawn Acker McBride; brother, Gerald Smith and sister Betty Pilgrim.The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 27, 2009 at 11:30am at Middleton Road Baptist Church officiated by the Reverend Brian Darrah and Reverend Brad Hanks. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Sunday, April 26, 2009 from 5-7 pm.
