Mr. Jay Harold "Sonny" Hardy, 74, Anderson, SC died on Monday, April 4, 2017 at An-Med Health Medical Center. He was the son of the late Harold L. Hardy and Hazel Thomason Hardy Crook born in Anderson on August 6, 1942. Mr. Hardy was a US Navy Veteran and graduated from Central Wesleyan University. He retired as an Electronics Engineer from NCR, a prominent Software, Computer Hardware, and Electronics Company. Mr. Hardy is survived by his wife, Lynne Rickard Hardy of their home, one son: Jason Hardy and wife Jenni of Cumming, GA; two sisters: Barbara A. Smith and husband Glenn, and Janice Case all of Anderson, SC; and three grandchildren: Spencer, Grayson, and Evalynn Hardy. In addition to his parents Mr. Hardy was preceded in death by a brother-in-law: Paul L. Farmer. A funeral service will be held at New Prospect Baptist Church on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 3:00pm with the Reverends Dr. Tom Turner and Dr. Glenn Thomason officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Military Honors. The Hardy family will receive friends from 1:00pm until 2:30pm at New Prospect Baptist Church, Saturday, April 8, 2017 prior to the service.
