Jeanette B. Fortner Anderson, SC Margaret Jeanette Brown Fortner, age 81, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2014, at NHC of Anderson. Born in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Walter Allen Brown and the late Mammie Lou Moore Brown. She worked in the textile industry for most of her career, working for Abney Mills and retiring from Orr Lyon Mills. She was a member of Taylor Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church. Jeanette loved her family and her church and never said an unkind word. She believed in, loved and followed Jesus, and is home with the Lord today. She is survived by two sons, Roger Eugene Fortner and his wife, Sandra and Edwin Keith Fortner and his wife Dorothy, all of Anderson, SC; a daughter, Kathy Oliver and her husband Tom, of Greer, SC; a sister, Louise B. Wooten, of Anderson, SC; brothers-in-law, James Woodson, of Anderson, SC and Lefoy Heaton, of Gainesville, GA; a sister-in-law, Pat Williams Brown, of Anderson, SC; and 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Eugene Fortner; a brother, Milton Brown; and three sisters, Olga Woodson, Bonnie Heaton and Willie Faye Brown. The Funeral Service to honor Mrs. Fortner will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 3:30 p.m. in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Reverend Brent Lollis and Reverend Tommy Wooten officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will be at the home of her son, Roger Fortner, 522 Stagecoach Drive, Anderson and will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service on Thursday, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Fortner may be made to Taylor Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church, 711 Glenn Street, Anderson, SC 29625.
