Born in Virginia Beach, VA she was the daughter of Marlene Taylor Pickett and the late Leon George Pickett. She was a graduate of McDuffie High School. She was a cook at the Short Stop Grill in Anderson. Mrs. Landers enjoyed music especially singing along to her many songs. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Chris Carter and his wife Loren, of Starr; a daughter, Stephanie Cordell and her husband Paul Smith, of Anderson; sisters, Bonita Latour and Joyce Gillette both of Belton, and Donna Humble of Aiken; she is survived by her first husband, Bobby Carter, the father of her children.
