Jeff Black Belton, SC Jeffery Doyle Black, age 45, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2014, at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Anderson, SC, on December 4, 1968, he was the son of Doyle Black and Katherine Black, of Anderson, SC. He was a graduate of Pendleton High School, Class of 1987 and the University of South Carolina in 1998. He worked at the Anderson County Sherriff's Department until he began his teaching career at Anderson University, as professor of Criminal Justice. Jeff was a member of Barker's Creek Baptist Church, in Honea Path, SC. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving wife, Renee Smith Black; two sons, Joshua Black and Jonathan Black; his brother, Benjamin Black and his wife Gillian and their children Reed and Ellie Black; and his grandmother, Lola Black. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 14, 2014, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall of Barker's Creek Baptist Church. The Funeral Service will follow in the sanctuary, beginning at 3:00 p.m. with Reverend Wes Taylor and Reverend James Lollis officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be at the residence. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
