He attended Belton-Honea Path High School and was employed by Vulcan Materials in Greenwood, SC as plant foreman. He served in the United States Army.Survivors include his wife, Kimberly Powell Thompson of Anderson; mother, Mildred Phillips Thompson; sons, Jacob and Hunter Thompson, both of Anderson; step-son, Timothy Taylor of Anderson; brothers, Richard Thompson of Anderson and Matthew Thompson of Cleveland, TN and Garett Powell of the home.The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, September 3, 2006 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverends Thomas W. Powell and Terry Bailey.
