Mrs. Jennie Moore Smith, age 89 of Gainesville,Ga formely of Anderson S.C. died April 2, 2014 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness. Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, April 6,2014 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of McDougald Funeral Home in Anderson, South Carolina with internment to follow in New Silver Brook Cemetery in Anderson. Reverend Kurt Stutler will officiate. The Family will receive friends on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at the funeral home from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Mrs. Smith was born on May 8, 1924 in Anderson, SC to the late William B. and Jennie Moore. She was retired after 35 years from J.P. Stevens Manufacturing and was a member of Toxaway Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ralph M. Smith, brothers, Alf Moore, and Ralph Moore, and sister, Beulah Mace Clark. Mrs. Smith is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Cheryl Smith of Gainesville, grandson, Ivan Smith of Gainesville, granddaughter and husband, Stephanie and Chad Whitmire of Clermont, GA,and great-grandson, Maximus Whitmire Clermont, Ga. sister, Louise McAlister of Anderson, SC, and a number of nieces and nephews.
