Jennie Louise Loftis Scott, age 91, entered her Heavenly home upon her death on Saturday, February 21, 2015, at her residence. Born in Anderson on June 9, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Edward Loftis and the late Bessie Caldwell Loftis. Mrs. Scott was a graduate of Greenwood High School where she was her Class Valedictorian. For many years she was a bookkeeper at Hayes Food Products until her retirement. Jennie was a member of Northgate Baptist Church in Greenville. She ministered to the residents of Pendleton Manor Nursing Home for many years. Survivors include her daughter, Gayle Scott Runion of Simpsonville; a sister, Selma L. Smith of Anderson; one grandchild Charlotte Meredith Runion Duque and husband Felipe; and three great grandchildren, Leyla, Sofia, and Soloman Duque, all of Bridgeport, CT. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her husband, Ansel Ravenel Scott; two brothers and four sisters. The graveside service to honor and celebrate the life of Jennie Scott will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at 2 p.m. at the New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Dr. Robert Whaley officiating. The family will gather for a time of visitation following the service.
