Jenny Sullivan Farmer, age 92, of Anderson, SC, passed away Friday, April 29, 2022 at Dominion Senior Living. Born January 16, 1930, in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Edgar Sullivan and the late Doris Gibert Sullivan. She was married to the late Joseph Andrew Farmer, Jr. She was a graduate of Winthrop University having earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. She was an active member of St. John's United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and served as a mentor and tutor for a refugee family. She was a longtime volunteer for the Anderson Free Clinic, and a past president of the Anderson Junior Assembly. She was an avid gardener and loved her sewing club and will always be remembered as an individual who served others before self. The perfect family matron, she treasured hosting family gatherings for her many grands and great-grands. Jenny devoted her life to her family, who made up her world. She is survived by her children, Louisa Farmer Neely (Bill) of Anderson, SC, Catherine Farmer Wingo (Mike) of Simpsonville, SC and Dr. Joseph Andrew Farmer, III (Kathy) of Anderson, SC; grandchildren, Ross Martin (Clara), Whitney Martin Hooper (Brian), Laura Wingo Register (Tripp), Drew Wingo (Madison), Joey Farmer (Ruth), Sarah Farmer Senn (Caleb), and Graham Farmer; and great-grandchildren, Henry Hooper, Charlie Hooper, Gioia Martin, Bruner Register, John Michael Register, Luke Register, Addy Wingo, Ryleigh Wingo, and Elinor Senn. In addition to her spouse and parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Eggie Sullivan. The funeral service will be held Thursday, May 5, 2022 at 2 pm at St. John's United Methodist Church. Rev. Dan Batson will officiate. The family will greet friends and family at 3 pm in St. John's Fellowship Hall. A private family committal will be held Thursday morning at Old Silver Brook Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at Dominion Assisted Living and Hospice of the Upstate for their loving care.
