Ralph Jerome Allen, Jr., age 74, of Anderson, SC, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2024, at AnMed Medical Center.

Born October 22, 1949, in Anderson County, SC, he was the son of the late Ralph Jerome Allen and Eleanor Jones Allen. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Hayden Matthew Rainey.

Jerry was a graduate of T.L. Hanna High School and a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps serving his country during the Vietnam War. He was an avid golfer and always enjoyed playing at the Anderson Country Club. He enjoyed sports and was a huge Clemson Tigers fan. What Jerry loved most of all was his family. He was a proud husband, father, and grandfather and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Bobbi McCann Allen; children, Kellye Allen Rainey (Brandon) and Chad Allen; grandchildren, Avery Rainey and Abby-Grace Rainey; and sisters, Janice Sutherland (Jim) and Jean Watkins (Dee).

The family will receive friends Sunday, July 21, 2024, from 2:00-4:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. At a later date, a private family committal service will be held at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery with military honors.
