Jerry Lee Bostic, age 75, of Pendleton, SC, passed away Sunday, February 26, 2023, at his home. Born May 3, 1947, in Anderson, SC, he was a son of the late Ernest L. Bostic and Ruby Nell Speed Bostic. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Billy Bostic, Albert L. Bostic, Ernest L. Bostic, and Carlton "Bo" Bostic; and sister, Betty J. Roberts. Jerry was a veteran of the United States Army having served in Vietnam and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He met the love of his life while working at Kresge and later enjoyed a 28 year career at K-Mart. Following retirement, he served the Anderson community for 11 years while working at The McDougald Funeral Home. Jerry was a dedicated Christian and served as music director at several churches throughout the years. He was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and was a member of the American Legion, the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), and Covenant Baptist Church. Jerry took pride in his family and was most proud of his grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife, Jane Vickery Bostic; sons, Ernest Chandler "Chan" Bostic (Sonja) and Brent Lee Bostic (Melissa); grandchildren, Logan Bostic (Hayli), Connor Bostic, Anna Leigh Bostic, Katie Beth Bostic, and Cooper Bostic; brother, Raymond Bostic; and sisters, Patsy Hanks and Joann Smith. The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 28, 2023, from 6:00-8:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Covenant Baptist Church with Dr. Steve Silvey and Rev. Mike Adams officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. Those who have worked with Jerry will be honorary pallbearers. Flowers will be accepted.
