Jerry Martin Ellis, age 73, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2026.

Born June 5, 1953, in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late Melvin Ellis and Margie Every Ellis. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Ron Ellis; and sisters, Peggy Adams, Judy Bennett, and Theresa Ellis Moore.

Jerry enjoyed hiking in the mountains, especially to waterfalls. He loved listening to Credence Clearwater Revival and Rod Stewart and watching Andy Griffith and Little House on the Prairie. He was an avid Gamecocks fan and loved his poodle Ginger.

He is survived by his sons, Ryan Ellis and Rodney Motes; and sister, Diane Horne (Dale).

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 1:00-1:45 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The service will begin at 2:00 pm with Rev. Sam Duncan officiating. Following the service, the family will be at the home of Shaylee and Easton Brannon.
