Jerry Leroy McCullough, age 83, of Abbeville, SC, passed away on Monday, October 6, 2025, at his home.
Born July 23, 1942, in Anderson, SC, he was a son of the late Ernest Watson McCullough and Annie Mae Brown McCullough. He was married for 55 years to his late wife Sandra Ellen Walker McCullough. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Lane McCullough (late Mary), Charles McCullough, George E. McCullough, and Wayne McCullough; one sister, Linda Kay; and daughter-in-law, Lana McCullough.
Jerry worked for Duke Energy for 35 years before retiring. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he served with the 71st Transportation Group in Vietnam. He was a Mason for 55 years, a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, and a man of strong faith. He loved hunting, fishing, farming, raising Charolais cattle, and enjoying his favorite treat, "niller" ice cream. He loved his family and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his son, Steven McCullough; daughter, Krisandra Lambert; brother, Henry McCullough; sister, Wilda Smith (late Melvin); William Lambert; grandchildren, Anna McCullough, Slade Lambert (Victoria), and Skyler Lambert (Britney); and great grandchildren, Vada, Dean, Mary Grace, and Judd.
The family extends a heartfelt appreciation to his beloved caregivers for their faithful service which allowed him to remain in the comfort of his home.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, from 10:30 am until 12:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 pm in the Chapel. Committal with military honors and Masonic rites will follow at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery at 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Agape Hospice.
