Jerry Milledge Thrasher, 77, of Anderson, SC, passed away, Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born June 6, 1943, in Hartwell, GA, he was the son of the late Milledge Thrasher and Minnie Wright Thrasher. Jerry was employed with AnMed Health in the maintenance department for 27 years and also worked for Kirby Heating and Air for 20 years. He enjoyed fast cars and was a member of the Anderson Classic Car Club. Jerry was an active member of Pleasant View Baptist Church where he served on the Buildings and Grounds Committee, was a deacon and was the teller of the Sunday School Department. He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Ann Kirby Thrasher of the home; son, Mark Thrasher (Laurie) of Greenville, SC; grandchildren, Keyes, Kazden, Kolten and Kariella Thrasher and Virginia, Isabelle and Tucker Shealy; sisters Louise Williamson and Janelle Cain both of Anderson, SC; mother-in-law, Naomi Kirby of Anderson, SC; and sisters-in-law, Kathy Bell (Andy) of Sandy Springs, SC and Teresa Griffin (Jimmy) of Anderson, SC. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Eugene, Junior, Charles, Jenkins and Hayward Thrasher; and sisters, Evelyn Crocker, Mary Thomas and Joann Kelly. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 17, 2020, from 2:00-3:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow in the Chapel at 3:30 pm with Dr. Glenn Taylor officiating. Burial will take place in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
