Jesse Randolph Hawkins, Jr. age 82, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at home.

Born August 27, 1943, in Ahokie, NC, he was the son of the late Jesse Randolph Hawkins, Sr. and Gladys Elizabeth Congleton Hawkins. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Tommy Hawkins.

Jesse was a veteran of the United States Army and was retired from Michelin. He was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed softball and camping. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Shelby Jean Hilley Hawkins; sons, Gregory "Greg" Curtis Summerall, Rodney "Chad" Summerall (Melanie), and "Russell" Shannon Hawkins all of Anderson; daughter, Mitzi "Elaine" Galloway (Bruce) of Anderson; sister, Wanda June Adams (George) of Greenville, NC; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 23, 2026, from 12:00 to 1:15 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 1:30 pm in the Chapel with Bishop David Ladner officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post 14, 1301 E. Greenville St., Anderson, SC 29621.
