Jessie Ruth Armstrong Belton, SC Jessie Ruth Armstrong, age 72, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2015, at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Rans Loranzo Loggins and the late Jessie Mae Simpson. Ruth was a minister before her tenure as a nurse. She practiced as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the South Carolina Penal System at Perry Correctional Institution. Jessie was a member of Faith Memorial Tabernacle. She is survived by her children, Brett Ward Armstrong and his wife Deborah, of Los Angeles, CA, Athena Yarbrough, of Belton, SC and Daniel Armstrong and his wife Cyndy, of Tigard, OR; nine grandchildren,ten great-grandchildren, one expected great-grandchild; and her sisters, Alma Yates, Shirley Skelton, and Glenell Whitfield, all of Anderson, SC. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Albert Leon Armstrong; a son, Matthew Mark Armstrong and a daughter- in-law, Sara Armstrong. The service will be held on Friday, February 6, 2015 at Faith Memorial Tabernacle at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend John Cleveland and Mr. Brett Ward Armstrong officiating. Interment will follow at New Silver Brook Cemetery. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Flowers will be accepted as memorials.
