Jessie Lee Ridgeway Boles, age 87, of Iva, SC, passed away peacefully at on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at NHC Healthcare Anderson. Born February 20, 1935, in Lowndesville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Emerald "Red" Ridgeway and Florence Lee Ridgeway. She was married to the late Earl Clifton Boles. Jessie formerly worked at Rocky River Mill in Calhoun Falls. She was a charter member of Lowndesville Pentecostal Holiness Church where she started teaching Sunday School at the age of 17 when the church was formed. In 1975 she became a member of Iva Pentecostal Holiness Church where she taught an adult Sunday School class for over 20 years. Jessie enjoyed her daily devotions and was dedicated to reading scripture, having read the Bible through each year for 36 years. She enjoyed listening to her Josh Turner gospel CD and having "church in the kitchen" time with her daughter, Gail the last several years. She loved her family and friends and always anointed and prayed for everyone who came to visit her. Jessie enjoyed working in her yard and cut the grass with her push mower until 5 years ago. She loved her flowers and crepe myrtle trees and watching the rabbits and birds. She is survived by her daughter, Gail Brown; grandchildren, Jonathan Brown (Lindsay), Gayla McDonald (Kevin), and Casey Kelley (Dwayne); great grandchildren, Jake and Jolie Kelley, Ace, Nash, and Charlie McDonald, Eliza Brown, Joshua Gurley (Valerie), and Paige Powell (Jacob); great-great grandchildren, Aiden, Emmie, and Ellie Gurley; son-in-law, Wade Burton; and grandson-in-law, Ron Gurley. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Joe Boles; daughter, Evelyn Burton; granddaughter, Alison Gurley; sister, Mary Willoughby; son-in-law, Doug Green; 3 half-brothers; and 2 half-sisters. The family will receive friends Saturday, April 2, 2022, from 1:30-3:00 pm at Lowndesville Pentecostal Holiness Church. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 pm with Rev. Scotty Willoughby, Rev. Billy Pinson, and Rev. Teddy Chubb officiating. Burial will follow at Smyrna Cemetery. Flowers accepted and memorial contributions may be made to Lowndesville Pentecostal Holiness Church, P.O.
