JESSIE 'GRANNY' NEAL March 29, 1922 - July 5, 2007STARR, SCMrs. Jessie Mae Pitts Neal, age 85 of 112 Brady Circle, Starr, SC, wife of the late William Harold Neal, died Thursday, July 5, 2007 at the AnMed Health Medical Center in Anderson, SC.Born in Easley, SC on March 29, 1922, Mrs. Neal was a daughter of the late Zachariah 'Babe' Pitts and Viola Hinton Pitts. After retiring from textiles, she worked with H & R Block as a tax preparer. She was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Temple.Survivors include a son, Alan Duane Neal of Anderson, SC; daughter, Hazel Bridges and Lucille Southers, both of Greer, SC and Linda Neal of Panama City, FL; two brothers and five sisters; twenty grandchildren; forty-one great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Ruth Moss and Libby Waddell; three brothers and two sisters.A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2007 at 3:30 pm at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with the Reverend Sam Duncan officiating.The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Saturday, July 7, 2007 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.The family will be at the residence.A Special thanks from the family to Tammy, Libby, Jessica, Kathryn for their special and loving care of their grandmother during her illness.
