Jewell Broome Edwards, age 89, of Anderson, SC, passed away Thursday, November 23, 2023, at the home.

Born January 4,1934 in Washington, GA, she was a daughter of the late George F. Broome and Lilly Mae Patterson Broome. She was also predeceased by a sister, Joyce Sanders and three brothers, James Robert Owens, Charles Broome, and Paul Broome.

Jewell was retired from Owens-Corning Fiberglass where she worked as an Administrative Assistant and enjoyed being a member of the Red Hat Society. A dedicated member of Eureka Baptist Church, she worked tirelessly as the Director of Senior Adults for many years. Jewell also served her community as a member of the Anderson Federal Credit Union Board of Directors for thirty years. She was a loving and dedicated wife to her husband, Robert, having celebrated seventy-three years of marriage.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Preston Edwards; two sons, Robert "Bobby" Lee Edwards (Jackie) of Anderson, SC and David Preston Edwards (Karen), of Columbia, SC; five grandsons, Jon Robert Edwards, Chad Lee Edwards, Joshua Lee Edwards, Colby Preston Edwards and Kyle Preston Edwards; six great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter; two brothers, Randy Broome and Don Broome.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 28, 2023, from 11 am – 12 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 12:30 pm with the Rev. Robert Dickard officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
