James Aaron Wilson, age 86, of Anderson, SC, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, on Monday, March 15, 2021, at Rainey Hospice House. Born January 18, 1935 in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late H. Aaron Wilson and Helen Pruitt Wilson. He was married for 63 years to Mary Imogene Deanhardt Wilson, whom he loved and adored, until her death in 2019. Jim was a graduate of Boys High and a veteran of the United States Army. He worked for several years for Anderson Electric before enjoying a long career at Asplundh Construction from which he was retired. Following retirement, he along with his brother, Larry, were the co-founders of U Tech Construction, Inc. Jim was a Mason and Shriner and served on the board of the Broadway Water and Sewer District. He was a devout Christian and strived to exemplify Christ in his daily life. He was highly involved in the different churches of which he was a member and was presently an active member of Neals Creek Baptist Church. Jim will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, brother, and Pops and a true friend to all who knew him. He is survived by his children, Tony Wilson (Angela) of Blackstock, SC, and Kimberly Wilson of Navarre, FL; brother, Larry B. Wilson of Atlanta, GA; sisters, Ann Bryant, Nancy Bryant (Truman), and Joyce Smart all of Anderson, SC; grandchildren, Tony, Jordan, Daniel, Erin, Hayden, and Joli; and great-grandchildren, Haila, Taylor, Madi, Danni, Lily, Rosie, and Alora. Also left behind, is his dear friend, Kaye Dickerson. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Boyce Wilson. A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 18, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Neals Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Dorriety and Rev. Matthew Goins officiating. Social distancing will be observed and masks are encouraged. A private family committal service with military honors will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Veterans Mausoleum.
