Jimmy Freeman, age 82, of Lancaster, SC, devoted husband to the late Louise Hayes Freeman, passed away Thursday, September 22, 2022, at his residence. Born August 10, 1940, in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late Boyce Freeman and Eunice Fant Freeman. Jimmy proudly served his country in the United States Navy and retired from Electrolux. He enjoyed outdoor grilling, swimming, building puzzles, and fishing. He was also a past member of the Moose Lodge. He is survived by his daughter, Diane Matthis (Wayne) of Lancaster, SC; granddaughter, Goddess Elder of Lancaster, SC; great-grandchildren, Matthew Sims, Jr., Dylan Sims, Deandre Ballard, and Dallas Elder all of Lancaster, SC; brother-in-law, Howard Hayes (Pam) of Anderson, SC; cousin, Billy Ray Freeman of GA; and aunts, Hazel Spence and Ruby Fant Miller, both of Anderson, SC. In addition to his loving wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Nikki Steward. The family will receive friends Friday, September 30, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow visitation in the Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will be at their respective homes.
