Jimmy Ray Glenn, Sr., age 76, of Townville, SC, passed away Monday, March, 14, 2022 at his home. Born October 29, 1945, in Townville, he was the son of the late Willie T. Glenn and Bessie Mae Sammons Glenn. Jimmy spent his career in the textile industry having worked for Equinox Mill, Glen Raven, and J.P. Stevens. He loved fishing and listening to country music. Jimmy was a great and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a member of Double Springs Baptist Church. He is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Lounelle Sammons Glenn; son, Jimmy Ray Glenn, Jr.; daughters, Barbara Ann Glenn Bohannon (Ricky), Vickie Michelle Glenn Dawkins (David), and Jessica Nicole Glenn; sister, Juanne Richardson; grandchildren, William Cory Bohannon, Ricky Noah Bohannon, Jr., David Bradley Dawkins, Jr., and Robert Anthony Dawkins; great grandchildren, Zoey Bohannon, Cooper James Bohannon, Owen Bohannon, and Ollie Ray Bohannon; special nephew, Larry Gilliam; and his Chihuahua dog of 18 years Poope. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Angie Glenn Charping; 3 sisters and 9 brothers. The family will receive friends Friday, March 18, 2022, from 6:00-8:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Saturday, March 19, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Double Springs Baptist Church with Rev. David Blizzard officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
