Obituary

Jimmy Lee Manley, age 82, of Pendleton, SC, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at his home.

Born April 27, 1942, in Anderson, SC, he was a son of the late Frank Lee Manley and Dorothy Coleman Manley. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Sue Manley; brothers, Jacky Ray Manley, Jerry Frank Manley, and John Edward Manley; daughter, Vicky Wilson Wallace; and one grandson.

Jimmy was a proud veteran of the United States Army serving during both the Vietnam War and Gulf War. He was formerly involved in the American Legion. He loved visiting family and friends and would make weekly trips to do so. He was a talented author and wrote three fiction books about the military and many short stories. He also created board games and produced his own original music. He regularly attended Faith Fellowship in Pendleton.

He is survived by his sons, Scott Manley and Frank Lee Manley, II; six grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 8, 2024, from 2:00-2:45 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 pm in the Chapel. Burial will be on a later date at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.

The family will be at the home of Judy Manley.
