Jimmy Frank Montgomery, 83, of Starr, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2026, to be with his Savior. Born on May 29, 1942, Jim lived a life full of love for the outdoors and his devotion to family.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Montgomery; daughter, Beth Adams (Brian); granddaughter, Megan Shea (Connor); and grandson, Ethan Adams. He was preceded in death by his son, Brian Montgomery.

A true jack of all trades, he could build anything, cars, campers, sailboats, swings, trailers you name it. Jim filled everyday moments with wisdom, laughter, and small lessons that made childhoods memorable and hearts full.

Jim's legacy is not only seen in the projects he completed but in the family, values, and life he nurtured, marked by purpose.

He was a faithful member of Varennes Heights Baptist Church in Anderson, South Carolina, he retired from Singer-Ryobi after 32 years of service, and he served in the Air Force. 

We will miss our beloved husband, father, and grandaddy but rejoice in the promise of eternal life with Jesus.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 17, 2026, from 1:30-2:30 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 pm in the Chapel with Rev. David Walters officiating. Entombment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
