James Dudly "Red" Parnell, Sr., age 83, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at his residence. Born in Lowndesville, SC, on June 3, 1932, he was a son of the late Albert Lester Parnell and the late Sarah Mildred Nixon Parnell. He was a graduate of Antreville High School, Class of 1950 and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Jimmy was a faithful member of Rocky River Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was known for his mechanic skills with John Deere and was still a full-time farmer. He is survived by his sons, Jimmy Parnell, Jr. and his wife Sharon, Paul Parnell and his wife Kathy, Steve Parnell and his wife Charlene; daughter, Ann Hutchinson and her husband Kelly; 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and two sisters Sarah Mildred Robison and Alma Palmer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Underwood Parnell; two brothers, John and William Parnell; sister, Juanita Tate; and a great-granddaughter, Kelsey Granger. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday May 16, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Rocky River Baptist Church . Interment will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday May 15, 2016 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The family will be at the residence.
