James W. Scoggins, age 90, of Lowndesville, SC, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 20, 2021, at Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home. Born May 16, 1931 in Columbia, SC, he was the son of the late D.H. Scoggins and Louida Little Scoggins. Jimmy was a 1950 graduate of Lowndesville High School and a veteran of the United States Air Force having served during the Korean conflict. He was retired from Michelin and was the former mayor of Lowndesville for over 40 years. Jimmy was a member of the Iva Masonic Lodge, a Shriner, an avid hunter and enjoyed spending time in his garden. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 69 years Imogene Greenway Scoggins; sons, Jimmy Lynn Scoggins (Cindy), Randy Scoggins, and Ricky Scoggins; grandchildren, April and Natalie and great-grandchildren, Machaela and Micah. A graveside service will be held Sunday, May 23, 2021 at 3:00 pm at Providence Presbyterian Church, Lowndesville, with Rev. Dan Fortney and Rev. Scotty Willoughby officiating.
