JIMMY L. SMITH January 31, 1949 - September 5, 2013 ANDERSON, SC Jimmy Logan Smith, age 64, of 6916 Hwy 187, Anderson, SC, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2013, at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late Edward Lynn "Boots" Smith and the late Ruth Louise Smith. He was a 1968 graduate of T.L. Hanna High School. Jimmy was formerly employed with Publix and had also worked at Ryobi. He was an avid sports fan, especially Clemson Tigers football and Atlanta Braves baseball. He was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church and of the Celebration Sunday School Class. He is survived by his brother, Major Al Smith of Rocky Mountain, NC; his sisters, Judy S. Rhodes and her husband Gene and Sandra Robinson and her husband Larry all of Anderson, SC; his special uncle and aunts, Bobby and Nancy Smith and Lecey Wood, all of Anderson, SC; and many nieces and nephews whom he loved very dearly. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Irma Crocker Smith and a sister, Debra Slater. The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home on Sunday, September 8, 2013 at 2:00 PM with his brother, Al Smith, Reverend Mike McCormick and Reverend Evan Hill officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Honorary escorts will be the Celebration Sunday School Class of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, September 7, 2013 from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Mt.
