James Ernest "Jimmy" Snead, age 77, of Anderson, SC passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born May 11, 1941 in Walhalla, SC, he was a son of the late James Edward Snead and Ruthie Mae Kelley Barker. He served in the United States Navy and retired from Foundry and Steel. He was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Temple, was an avid guitarist and loved country music. Jimmy is survived by his wife of 34 years, Ann Childs Snead; children, Russell (Wendy) Kelly, Robert Kelly, and Marie (Damon) Burrells; brother, John Snead and sister, Diane Barker; grandchildren, Brandon (Brandi) Kelly, Dylon Kelly and Jessie Green and great-grandchildren, Steel Kelly, Storm Kelly, Ava Green and Payton Rice. The family will receive friends from noon-1:30pm Friday, February 22, 2019 at Gethsemane Baptist Temple. The funeral service will follow at 2:00pm Friday at the church with Rev. Sam Duncan officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the home of Russell and Wendy, 1026 Crestview Road, Anderson, SC.
