Jimmy Wallace Stamey, age 86, of Pendleton, SC, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Oconee Memorial Hospital.

Born November 1,1937 in Oconee County, SC, he was the son of the late Horace Stamey and Carrie Burkett Stamey. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Stamey Bunch and his sisters, Barbara Teat and Carolyn Bolt.

Jimmy was a devoted husband to his wife, Shelby, for sixty-one years. An avid gardener, he would make friends with everyone who stopped by for fresh produce. He loved spending time with his family and being outdoors, especially on his tractor. Jimmy was an excellent cook and a lifelong supporter of the Clemson Tigers. He was retired from the Milliken Pendleton Finishing Plant and served for a short time in the Army then transferred to the National Guard.

He is survived by his wife, Shelby Stamey of Pendleton; a daughter, Lisa Thomas (Mike) of Iva, SC; grandchildren, Christin Shore (Josh), Caroline McGuigan (Patrick), Griffin Henry (Jonathan), Drake Thomas, Caitlin Brown (Daulton), Emery Thomas, Daniel Barber and David Barber; great-grandchildren, Avereigh Shore, Emerick McGuigan and Slade McGuigan; brothers, Billy (Jean) Stamey and Roger (Cher) Stamey; sisters, Frankie Whitfield and Judy (Mike) Crocker.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 from 11:30 am - 12:45 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home.  The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm in the Chapel.  Burial will be at Memory Gardens, Clemson, SC.  Reverend Allen Moore will officiate.
