Jimmy Ross Wicker, age 74, of 423 Cromer Road, Townville, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, February 13, 2018, with his family by his side. Born on March 8, 1943, in Townville, he was the son of the late John Ross Wicker and the late Ginnie Dyer Wicker. Twice married, Jimmy was the husband of the late Vera Lee Wicker until her death in 2005, and Barbara Fountain Wicker who died in 2008. After attending Townville High School, Jimmy worked for twenty-nine years as a loom fixer at Haynesworth Mills in Anderson. After the closing of the mill he worked for nine years for the Kennemetal Company. Mr. Wicker was a member of Double Springs Baptist Church, Townville. Survivors include three daughters, Nancy Ann Patterson (Roger), Beverly Lee Brock (Marshall) and Tracey Stephens (Tim), all of Townville; four sisters, Florence Ann Beaty of Townville, Lou Ellen Dean (Gary) of Belton, Linda Craft (Harold) of Starr, and Frances Conyers (Cecil) of Townville; three grandchildren, Eric Lee Patterson, Joshua Brock, Brittney Door; and one great-grandchild, Leighann. In addition to his parents and both wives, Mr. Wicker was preceded in death by a brother, William Wicker. The family will be at the home of Nancy and Roger Patterson, 1510 Hatton Ford Road, Townville, and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Thursday, February 15, 2018, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 16, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Double Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Thomas Maxwell officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Wicker may be made to Interim Healthcare, 16 Hyland Road, Greenville, SC 29615.
