JO ANN DARBY November 2, 1933 - January 1, 2013 ANDERSON, SC Jo Ann Darby, age 79, of Anderson, passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2013, at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late J.D. Freeman and the late Sybil Cole Freeman. She was formerly employed with K-Mart and Anderson County School District #5. She was an avid bowler, traveling all over the Southeast to play in tournaments. She and her family lived from 1951 until 1964 in New Bern, NC. She was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church. She is survived by her children, Al Darby of Belton, SC, Steve Darby of Anderson, SC and Lisa Bailey of Clover, SC; six grandchildren, Michelle, Steven, Shanna, Max, Eric and Adam; and one step great-granddaughter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Darby and a brother, Marshall Freeman. The Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2013, at 4:30 pm at New Hope United Methodist Church with Reverend Joyce Murphy officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Hope Methodist Church, 233 New Hope Road, Anderson, SC 29626.
