JO ELLEN HAYES Jo Ellen Jaynes Hayes, age 84, of 603 Derrydown Way, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2014, at the Rainey Hospice House with her beloved daughter at her side. Born on July 31, 1930, in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late Z. F. Jaynes and the late Ruby Meeks Jaynes. She was the devoted wife of the late James Henry Hayes who died in 2000. Jo Ellen was a graduate of Anderson Girls High School. Mrs. Hayes was retired from Orr-Lyons Mill after 44 years of service. She loved her pet cats and dogs, and enjoyed gospel music. She was a member of Orville Baptist Church. Mrs. Hayes previously attended and was a member of Carswell Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Michael Wade Hayes, and a daughter, Cindy Hayes Franks and her husband, Danny, of Anderson; 2 sisters, Mildred Sammons of Anderson and Frances Jaynes of Saluda, SC; and 1 granddaughter, Kimberly Michelle Franks of Anderson. In addition to her parents, and her husband James, Mrs. Hayes was preceded in death by a grandson, Christopher Adam Franks; and a sister, Carole Bowers. A funeral service to celebrate and honor the life of Jo Ellen Hayes will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2014, at 3 p.m., at the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home, with Rev. Dr. Wendell Bannister officiating. Interment will follow at the Carswell Baptist Church Cemetery.
