She was diagnosed with Leukemia December, 2006.Born in Connellsville, PA on March 4, 1943, Joan was the daughter of the late Clarence Eliza Cartwright and Agnes Louise Murphy Cartwright. She was a graduate of Saint Francis School of Nursing in Pittsburgh, PA and was a Registered Nurse for 43 years. She was employed with Patrick Harris Psychiatric Hospital for the past two years.Survivors include her life companion, Henry Cooper of Anderson, SC; daughter, Deborah Van Wright of Southampton, MA; son, Jeffrey Cregger and his wife, Lisa and their twins, Sydney and Hunter, all of Lebanon, Ohio; daughter, Cheryl Muldoon and her husband John of Sumter, SC. She is also survived by beloved cousins, two half-brothers and many friends. Her gentle spirit will be remembered fondly.A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2007 at 11:00 am at Saint Mary's of the Angels Catholic Church with Father Thaddeus Sapio, OFM officiating.The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Friday, August 24, 2007 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.Flowers are optional.
