Joan Catherine Deglau, age 89, of Belton, SC, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at Rainey Hospice House.

Born August 20, 1936, in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Jere Lau and Catherine Anna Sprol Lau. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Thomas M. Lau.

Joan was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her family was the joy of her life. She was a faithful member of Belton Presbyterian Church where she served in women’s church groups and Sunday School. She loved her church family dearly. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. In her spare time she enjoyed traveling, crossword puzzles, was an avid reader, and enjoyed the computer game Pogo.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald L. Deglau; sons, Thomas Jere Deglau and Michael Deglau; daughters, Sarah D. Trevolt (Ryan) and Carol-Joan Mejean (Charles); 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

A service will be held at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery at a later date.

The family will be at the residence.
