Joan F. Coleman Parks, age 97, long time resident of Venice, FL along with Pinckney and Ypsilanti, MI, loving wife to the late John Parks, passed away Friday, March 12, 2021, at Rainey Hospice House, Anderson, SC. Born April 24, 1923, in Ypsilanti, MI, she was the daughter of the late Sumner Coleman and the late Elizabeth Sinkule Coleman. Graduating from Ypsilanti High School, Joan worked on the assembly line of The Willow Run Bomber plant during WWII before a career as a secretary for Ford Motor Company where she later retired. She was of the Methodist faith. She is survived by her son, Dan Britton; brother, Robert Coleman; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, and dedicated husband, John, she was preceded in death by a brother, William Coleman. A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Hillside Cemetery, 46795 Denton Rd., Belleville, MI 48111.
