Joan Campbell Wright, age 93, formerly of Hanover Road in Anderson, SC, passed away Friday, October 21, 2022, at The Residences at Greer. Born March 18, 1929, in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Lee Campbell and Margie Nance Campbell. She was the beloved widow of Robert E. Wright, Jr., having been blessed with a wonderful marriage. She was a life-long member of Young Memorial A.R.P. Church. Joan graduated with honors from Girls High, Class of 1946 and Anderson College, in 1948. She was formerly employed as secretary of the Director of Nurses at Anderson Memorial Hospital and later was secretary of Gillespie Construction Company and Industrial Construction Company. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Nancy Campbell; nieces, Janice Nixon and Dena Campbell; nephew, Brent Campbell and great nieces, Cyndi Lynch, Fallon and Heather Campbell, and Shelby Russo and great nephew Landon Cook. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Richard E. Campbell, Sr.; sister, Mary Lee Nixon; nephew, Richard E. Campbell, Jr.; and great nephew, Brian Scott Lynch. The funeral service will be held Friday, October 28, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Dr. Barry Eller officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 285, Anderson, SC 29622 or the charity of one's choice.
