Joann Joyce Harris Hanks, age 85, of Iva, SC, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born January 15, 1936 in Rush Run, OH, she was the daughter of the late Pete and Julia Mary (Barto) Homol. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Walter Jerry Harris; second husband, Franklin Leroy Hanks; and brothers, Delbert Pete and Donald Wayne Homol. Joann was formerly employed with Electrolux and was a member of Carswell Baptist Church. She enjoyed the fellowship of her family and church family and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her sons, Jerry Harris (Kathy) of Arkansas and Doug J. Harris of Iva, SC; stepson, Billy Hanks (Julie) of Iva, SC; sisters, Darlene Marie Kulus of Tennessee, and Patricia Ann Morse of Virginia; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 6, 2021, from 12:30-1:30 pm at Carswell Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with Rev. Hudson White and Rev. James Bannister officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be at the home of Billy Hanks.
